Makayla and Will

Makayla Peterson

Meet Makayla, our Barn Manager. Makayla is a true local, having lived in Pipe Creek her whole life. She attended school in Bandera before transferring over to an online school when she was 14 so that she could focus on working with horses. Makayla started working with horses when she was 11. She took guests out for a trail riding company for 3 years and worked with a variety of different horses and their different personalities and quirks during that time. Makayla came to us at Happy Heart Stables in 2019 and has been working here ever since. She has worked to get horses back into riding shape and to refresh old skills as well as teach new ones. She has also worked with several problem horses, young horses, and with horses to get them tuned up before sale. She enjoys trail riding and competing in TTCC (Texas Trail Challenge Club). Currently Makayla gives beginning riding lessons and has worked with many beginner riders while doing trail rides.
